After the encounter at the Equator, the journey will continue with a lunch stop in Mbarara before continuing on to Bwindi with brief potty breaks and photo stops at various locations.

If you like, you can fly early in the morning to Bwindi Forest or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. After that, you’ll be picked up from the airport and driven to your hotel for some downtime.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi .

Gorilla trekking safari – This early in the morning, your driver-guide will pick you up from the resort and take you to the briefing location where you will wait till 8 am to begin your gorilla walk. As your driving guide registers you with the ranger on duty to be assigned a gorilla family, the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers will welcome you to the briefing location and provide seats till the time of the briefing.

Actually, the park ranger guide will give you a brief introduction to the experience there and how you should interact with other visitors and environment. Following the assignment of a gorilla family, you will begin your walk across the forest. Depending on location of your gorilla family, you might need to drive to the trail head of the allocated gorilla family.

We advise you to hire a porter to carry your day pack because sometimes the gorillas could be located a distance from the start of your trek, they can also help push or pull you along the steep slippery paths in the forest.
